Woodland Study Centre
Woodland Study Centre:
In partnership with Blueforest Ltd, Spirit Level Services were contracted to construct a tree house study centre in the heart of the New Forest. The project was commissioned by The Countryside Education Trust and makes extensive use of a wide variety of timbers, solar-powered lighting and rainwater harvesting. It will become an inspiring development that will continue and further the trust's environmental education programmes. The new tree house study centre was opened by Alan Titchmarsh and comprises two large classrooms-on-stilts, office & staff rooms and wash room facilites all nestled in woodland near the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. Youngsters taking part in environmental studies organised by CET will be able to move from one classroom to the other using a walkway 5m above the ground, and now have a modern, eco-friendly facility from which to operate. More than 10,000 children a year are expected to visit and make use of the complex.
